For my research paper drafting process, I chose to start with the section on the objectification of women. I chose to start here, because this is the area in which I have the most evidence from my primary text. In addition, starting from this point will illuminate the chain reaction of how objectification turns into eating disorders and body dysmorphia. I also feel that this is the section in which I personally feel most passionate about, due to life experiences, so I felt this was the easiest place to start. At first, I had a difficult time with this process, because I realized I had too many claims, with little evidence from my primary source to support them.
Once I condensed my claims, I was able to get a better idea of how I wanted to organize my draft. Throughout the drafting process, I was able to find that one of my sources can be utilized as a counter argument for the objectification of women. The drafting process compelled me to read my sources more closely. To conclude, the drafting process of my research paper really helped me gain a better idea of how I want to organize my final paper.
